Windows Phone 7 Series gaming with Microsoft

Posted by admin On March - 16 - 2010

Windows Phone 7 SeriesWindows Phone 7 is the introduction of the first portable Xbox platform and therefore, it is not only Microsoft’s attempt to compete against Apple’s iPhone.  Over at Joystiq,  Xbox Live general manager Ron Pessner and XNA Game Studio manager Michael Klucher at GDC on 10th March, and he share the interview about how games integrate into the mobile platform and what developers and gamers can expect in the future.

The main topic was the company’s plans about Xbox LIve and specifically, how it would be integrating it into Windows Phone 7 Series. There was too much to discuss including the sweet science of porting games from Zune HD to 7 Series phones (“it’s 90, 95 percent code reuse in couple of hours or an hour, I am taking games that were written for Zune HD and putting them on the phone”). The importance of maintaining a consistent gameplay experience amongst different hardware and the reasoning behind limiting devices to asynchronous multiplayer.

So, it’s a time to hit the source link to embark on this miraculous journey of discovery.

Windows 7: Proved faster than Vista, overtakes Mac OS X

Posted by admin On January - 22 - 2010

Window7Currently, I am working on Windows 7 and quite satisfied with that as it is hotter and faster than Vista. It is said not only by me but also by other users who have used last year. In 2009, Windows 7 sold well and gave the results that are not only in sheer revenue, but in the OS market share numbers also.

Windows 7 works very well better first few days in retail than Vista did when it launched and now that the system has had a full quarter and change to make an impression, it looks like that the growth is not slowing down.

According to new figures from Net Application, Windows 7 is gaining a top level of market penetration in a faster amount of time than Vista did; after a month, Win7 nailed the 4 percent mark, while Vista was stuck at 0.93 percent. After two months, Vista was barely over 2 percent while Win7 jumped to 5.71 percent after the same amount of time. Still there is no denying even that people are flocking to the system now. The most interesting part is that the overall market share of Windows 7 alone has now surpassed all OS X versions that are being tracked (10.4, 10.5 and 10.6).

So, Windows 7 has now become now more popular than all OS X version. So, live with Windows 7 to live long life.

Windows 7 is one of the fastest, most stable versions of Windows yet, and a pre-release version is generating an overwhelmingly positive buzz.

  • To make tasks easier and faster

  • To make it possible to do new things

Where Microsoft may find a bit rougher is in the consumer market, where Windows 7’s adoption may be slow due to a predecessor product. That predecessor product was Windows Vista.

Windows 7 is the successor to Windows Vista. It will incorporate touch technology from Microsoft’s Surface tabletop computer. Windows 7′s multi touch software can enable and laptop, PC, desktop users to use their fingers to zoom in and out of photos, draw pictures on-screen, zip quickly through slideshows, search and skim maps, and even play an on-screen piano. This multi touch features will be available via Windows 7.

Requirements for Windows 7 System

As the current version of Windows 7 is still not the final version, the system requirements are subject to change. So, the minimum system requirements are as follows:

  • 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
  • 16 GB of available disk space
  • DVD-R/W Drive

You should know what 64-bit gets you, when you are deciding to move up to a 64-bit operating system.

64-Bit Windows 7 Provides:

  • More bits access more memory
  • The processor inside your PC communicates with your system memory i.e. RAM with numeric addressing.
  • The maximum amount of memory a 32-bit processor can address is 4 gigabytes. Newer 64-bit processors, not to mention the 64-bit operating systems that run on them can address 17,179,869,184 gigabytes of RAM
