The Complete Blog On Technology

gobi-e-readerA leading innovator and developer of wireless technologies, Qualcomm Incorporated, today launched an expanded product road map for its Gobi connectivity technologies as part of the Organization’s expanded focus on targeting new markets with Gobi connectivity.

The new modem chipsets that have been added to the Gobi product family deliver support for CDMA2000® 1xEV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B, HSPA+, dual-carrier HSPA+ and LTE with integrated backwards compatibility to EV-DO and HSPA.

VTech Launches MobiGo Handheld Gaming System- Flip e-reader

Posted by admin On February - 19 - 2010

vtech-flipIf I am 30 years old then it does not mean that a small child in me has gone. At the Toy Fair in New York City in this week, VTech took a step away from the landline handset department and moved to work with a few swank toys. VTech has launched MobiGo, an innovative handheld gaming system.

This $59.99 MobiGo handheld gaming system designed for minds within humans aged 3 to 7. The device seen as a little tike’s GameBoy, supports touch inputs and features a QWERTY keyboard, both of which can be used to fish, draw, color, play on-screen instruments and enrich those malleable brain cells.

However, potentially more interesting is the Flip; described as the planet’s first children’s animated e-reader, this $59.99 device has a 4.3-inch color touchscreen, a QWERTY keyboard and a built-in dictionary. It is expected to hit shelves and online retailers around August. But till then just have a look.

ASUS DR-950 e-reader to be released in April in UK

Posted by admin On January - 27 - 2010

Good news for UK is that the Asus DR-950 e-reader with it outing photos has just outed itself. It is coming to the UK soon with a price tag in the range of £250 or about $354.

Asus-d-950The Asus DR-950 e-reader is the 9-inch E Ink, touchscreen reading device that is due out for buyers in April. We have confirmed this. ASUS told at Electric Pig that it is currently shopping around for content partners, but with Wi-Fi and 3G, 2 or 4GB or internal storage, this is one well specked digital tome they would be fools to turn down unless they are waiting on the colour version due at the end of the year.  Its price would be in the range of £250 or about $354. For the Asus DR-950 e-reader, Asus has not set a definite RRP but told us that it was aiming in the region of £250, including VAT.

They are preferable to import a Kindle DX, but we will withold judgment until we get a full hands-on.

Please have a look at the flesh photo and stay connected with us for more details.

BeBook Two launched on 14th Oct at Frankfurter Buchmesse

Posted by admin On October - 19 - 2009

BebookYou must be aware about the launch of the BeBook Mini in the US and about the one information that Barnes and Noble could be launched an e-reader of its own in next week, so, now rumored to have its BeBook 2 on deck for an October 14th release. It is considering that the Bebook has a booth at the Frankfurt Book Fair this week. I think I should expect that the rumors are true as there is atleast a decent chance.

Features include:

•    Wireless connectivity (3G and WIFI)
•    Purchase from the ebook reader with selected ebook partners using 3G or Wifi
•    Touchscreen
•    Free Wireless RSS support (not similar to the Amazon Kindle which charges per feed, per month)

If you remember the first look at the company’s first-ever 3G / WiFi-equipped e-book reader back at CeBIT in March and it was considering that there can never be enough competition in the market, I will take free RSS support and the promised touchscreen any way we can get it. On of my friend has gone to watch the action today.

So, you just need to wait for further information. I will update you as more details come in.

Kindle Books Replaces Actual Books, Interesting!!

Posted by admin On August - 29 - 2009

I and my sister are very fond of books. We always enjoy reading books in our spare time or whenever we travel a long journey. Reading books not only enhance my knowledge but also works as my best friend as it helps me in spending time when I am or whenever I get bored. But something new, more environmentally-friendly and more interesting than books has come into my and my sister’s life i.e. Kindle.kindle

Amazon Kindle is an electronic book device which is launched by Amazon.com in the United States in November 2007. It is more eco-friendly than a simple book according to a new study released by the Cleantech Group. The group has found that the environmental impact of Kindle was nice significant and also found that dramatically, the numbers can change over the course of the lifecycle of device which depends more on your reading habits.

The Kindle can produce roughly 168 kg of CO2 throughout the Kindle’s lifecycle that is a clear winner against the potential savings: 1,074 kg of CO2 if it replaces three books a month for four years and when used to the fullest capacity of the Kindle DX then up to 26,098 kg of CO2. Some readers are attracted by decreasing prices still can break even at 22.5 books over whole life of the device.

This is really a good news that six colleges in the U.S. will make textbooks available on the Kindle DX to use less paper specifically.

But, there are some obvious environmental drawbacks of this using electronic device Kindle like: production of a Kindle produces 168 kilograms of carbon dioxide as compared to 7.46 kilograms for a book, the Cleantech Group says citing many sources. Like reading a newspaper on a PC, you will need electricity to run an electronic book, Kindle.

So, its impact can turn to a negative if folks continue to buy books and print periodicals in addition to e-books. Let’s see if I would continue to be as an electronic reader.
