I had already heard that Toshiba was best known for solidly backing HD DVD during the two-year format war of 21st century. It was preparing to kick out a Blu-ray player by the end of this year, but now it is official. Yesterday, I came to know that Toshiba Corporation announced that the company has applied for membership of the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) and aims to introduce digital products that support the Blu-ray format; including BD players and notebook PCs integrating BD drives, in the course of this year.
Toshiba, a market leader in digital technologies, provides number of advanced digital products like DVD players and recorders, HDTVs and notebook PCs support number of storage devices, including DVD and SD Cards hard disk drives (HDD). In the field of growth in digital devices supporting the Blu-ray format, joined with market demand from retailers and consumers alike, Toshiba has decided to combine with the Blu-ray Disc Association.
It disappoint me as I really don’t know what kinds of BD-capable wares it hopes to produce as Toshiba does not bother to mention it, nor it is ready to announce product launch time frames. But I am very sure I am probably better off hearing it directly from the horse’s trap.
Product’s details include the timing of regional launches, are now under consideration. They will make announcements in due course. Details in the news releases like product specifications and prices, contact information and content of services are current on the date of the press announcement, but all this information are subject to change without any prior notice.
I hope you are also very excited like me to know about the information that are not highlighted yet.
