Everybody knows about NASA spaceships but nobody knows yet that now NASA is offering around 50% off on the 1970s-era spaceships from $42 million to $28.8 million apiece as the shuttles are scheduled to retire this fall.
So, now the Space Shuttle missions are ending, NASA is cleaning house, the deal of the century must be the free engines. These spare engines were earlier offered for sale for between $400,000 and $800,000 each back in 2008. So, with the shuttle program coming to a close for a discounted, bargain-basement price of a mere $28.8 mill, just pay the price of shipping and you could have your own engine. The Atlantis and Endeavour are both available. Who would be better – UPS or FedEx?
The prototype shuttle Enterprise that never made it to space, might also be up for grabs. The price includes transportation from Kennedy Space Center to a major airport. So far, about 20 institutions have expressed interest.
If you want a shuttle then one thing I would like to inform you that the deadline to make an offer is February 19, 2010 and its delivery will be by 2012.
