Samsung’s portable media player YP-R1 hits the FCC

Posted by Isha Farhad On August - 14 - 2009

I remember that I had heard the story and one month later I heard that Samsung has debuted Tegra-based YP-M1 in South Korea. The 16GB version of this new Samsung YP-R1 PMP will be available in the UK. But today, I am happy as I just found that its session at this moment finally popped up at the FCC and I will soon see if it meets the criteria to be sold in the market.

While not withstanding from a guaranty, that would seem to signal that US release could be coming sooner rather than later and hopefully way that it is sitting bigger brother, the M1, will also be following suit. If you missed it, the YP-R1 is a touchscreen-based player with a 2.7-inch display (400 x 240 pixels), and has 8GB to 32GB of flash storage, TV-out, touts built-in Bluetooth connectivity, supports the major audio and video file as well as a few games for nice measure if you are out with nothing else to do.

It is a good thing that if I pay some 110 GBP for in the UK (at today’s rate, it is some $180) and if it clears the FCC, then the price of this new Samsung YP-R1 should be close to that amount and it should debut just before the end of the year.

Are you still curious to know more about Samsung YP-R1? Hmm..me also.
