Rado is a Swiss manufacturer of watches and its watch is linked with top quality timepieces made from the finest scratch proof materials in the world. Rado company was founded in 1917 in Switzerland and in 1960 the world’s first scratch proof watch was made under the name of Rado DiaStar. In 1983, Rado became part of the SMH group and known as the Swatch Group in 1998 which is now the biggest watch conglomerate in the world.
Design:
The V10K, introduced in 2004 is a watch with a coating of high tech diamond. On earth, the V10K is the hardest watch. Other than the material, the new Rado watches are totally different from some of the more traditional Swiss watchmakers as it uses unconventional high tech materials and designs. Rado use a number materials unique to watchmaking for e.g. ceramics, lanthanum, hardmetal (tungsten and titaniumcarbide), and sapphire crystal.
People reaction’s to this is mixed as some prefer to go with the look of more traditional makers whereas others appreciate the more distinct Rado look. The various models of Rado have received more than 20 international design awards from the Red Dot Award to the If design Award during the years.

According to age, model and materials Rado watches vary in pricing but generally it will range from about US$400 to about US$28,000 for a watch made from the more precious materials.
