One of the bigger watch events, the annual Geneve event, SIHH or the Salon Internationalde la Haute Horlogerie celebrates its 20th anniversary some days ago. The event, currently in its 20th iteration that gathers 19 different brands (IWC, JLC, GP, Richard Mille, Cartier and many others). It is obvious to expect fine watch making from the exhibiting brands.
Among the list of the exhibiting brands, one of the most longest established and prestigious Swiss watch manufacturers, Panerai has released the reissue of Panerai Mare Nostrum to be launched at SIHH 2010.
Panerai Mare Nostrum include the features of a monstrous 52mm dial and is reported as being based on a hand-wound Minerva chronograph movement, dubbed the Panerai OP XXV caliber. Its price is estimated at $36,000. Wearing the canvas strap corresponds exactly to the aficionados of fine watches who are definitely going to grab the eye candy.
I love the canvas strap. Its price is estimated at $36,000. Here is a picture of the original watch that currently is in the Panerai museum. Enjoy!!
