Windows 7: Proved faster than Vista, overtakes Mac OS X

Posted by Isha Farhad On January - 22 - 2010

Window7Currently, I am working on Windows 7 and quite satisfied with that as it is hotter and faster than Vista. It is said not only by me but also by other users who have used last year. In 2009, Windows 7 sold well and gave the results that are not only in sheer revenue, but in the OS market share numbers also.

Windows 7 works very well better first few days in retail than Vista did when it launched and now that the system has had a full quarter and change to make an impression, it looks like that the growth is not slowing down.

According to new figures from Net Application, Windows 7 is gaining a top level of market penetration in a faster amount of time than Vista did; after a month, Win7 nailed the 4 percent mark, while Vista was stuck at 0.93 percent. After two months, Vista was barely over 2 percent while Win7 jumped to 5.71 percent after the same amount of time. Still there is no denying even that people are flocking to the system now. The most interesting part is that the overall market share of Windows 7 alone has now surpassed all OS X versions that are being tracked (10.4, 10.5 and 10.6).

So, Windows 7 has now become now more popular than all OS X version. So, live with Windows 7 to live long life.

ALFS (Automated Linux From Scratch) provides tools for managing and automating LFS and BLFS builds
CLFS (Cross Linux From Scratch) provides the means to cross-compile an LFS system on many types of systems
HLFS (Hardened Linux From Scratch) focuses on creating an LFS system with heightened security
Hints project is a collection of documents to explain you how to enhance your LFS system in ways that are not included in the BLFS or books.

Google Doodle? What is this??

Posted by Kamleshwar Bhatt On August - 27 - 2009

I am a big fan of  Google because whenever I use Google to search anything, to confirm anything, to know about something, it helps me a lot. Google guides me in an easy way and therefore I don’t need any tutor or teacher or to take help from other in free of cost. Infact I teach people after studying from Google.

Google has had many logos but the current official Google logo is a word mark based on the Catull typeface and was designed by Ruth Kedar. This company has many modifications and/or humorous features like cartoon modifications of their logo for use on birthdays of famous people, holidays and big events. Some of these special logos are designed by Dennis Hwang and now known as Google Doodles.

To the Burning Man Festival of 1998, the first Google Doodle was a reference and was designed by Sergey Brin and Larry Page, to notify users of their absence in case the servers crashed. After Larry and Sergey, Dennis Hwang (an outside contractor) was asked to design a logo for Bastille Day in 2000, although he had not been hired to do anything remotely related to logo design. But, Hwang has been designing the Google Doodles ever since.

Google doodles have been produced for many famous artist’s and scientist’s birthdays. They are also used to depict major events at Google. On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2007, the Google doodle had featured a chocolate-dipped strawberry that combined the second “g” and the “l” as its green stem.  This design gave the appearance that the “l” was missing, thereby displaying “Googe”.

What doodles will be doing next? Well, I have no idea. One thing I like most about Google is that this is the kind of company that, when a user writes in to suggest that they honor the once in every122-years Transit of Venus on their home page, they actually do it. Wow!!
