Motorola going to launch Android phones in 2010

Posted by admin On January - 21 - 2010

Motorola Android phones

An interesting thing came out to me about Motorola’s DEXT launch yesterday in Singapore. CNET Asia had sit down with Moto’s Asia Pacific VP Spiro Nikolakopoulos, who committed that in 2010, the company would launch between 20 to 30 Android phones globally.

Spiro Nikolakopoulos also said that not all phones would make it to all market, so they are guessing the true number will be more than 10 if we count regional variants like the DEXT and the CLIQ as one model, Moto is already close: off the tops of the heads we have heard of the Devour, the Shadow, the Ruth, the Backflip and many others destined for China.

So, just wait and watch for Motorola’s Android phones that how they will perform in the market.

Review on Palm Pre Plus & Pixi Plus

Posted by admin On January - 21 - 2010

plus645Since one year, Palm pulled itself back from the brink of imminent destruction with the announcement of the Palm Pre and webOS. Even less time since the products announced hit the market.

The company has issued another small and less powerful Pixi handset in that time period, they released a number of over-the-air updates to its OS and created a slew of developer tools that includes iterative releases of its SDK as well as a new web-based development environment called Ares.

Palm has been “back” throughout the ups and downs of the past one year, the company has its lone carrier partner in the US so they have stuck with Sprint. So, the third-place partner has kept it from the larger audiences AT&T or Verizon might offer while company’s been tweaking and innovating on its devices and platform.

Now, Palm has opened its devices up to the country’s largest carrier, in addition to bumping the specs and features of both phones it includes:

•    Pre getting an additional 8GB of storage and double the RAM
•    And Pixi is now equipped with WiFi

So Palm can really get this ship sailing, court the developers it badly needs, and deliver on the promises of webOS.

I don’t know it is too late or too little but I will have this answer soon.

Panerai reissues Mare Nostrum in SIHH 2010

Posted by admin On January - 20 - 2010

Panerai Mare NostrumOne of the bigger watch events, the annual Geneve event, SIHH or the Salon Internationalde la Haute Horlogerie celebrates its 20th anniversary some days ago. The event, currently in its 20th iteration that gathers 19 different brands (IWC, JLC, GP, Richard Mille, Cartier and many others).  It is obvious to expect fine watch making from the exhibiting brands.

Among the list of the exhibiting brands, one of the most longest established and prestigious Swiss watch manufacturers, Panerai has released the reissue of Panerai Mare Nostrum to be launched at SIHH 2010.

Panerai Mare Nostrum include the features of a monstrous 52mm dial and is reported as being based on a hand-wound Minerva chronograph movement, dubbed the Panerai OP XXV caliber. Its price is estimated at $36,000. Wearing the canvas strap corresponds exactly to the aficionados of fine watches who are definitely going to grab the eye candy.

I love the canvas strap. Its price is estimated at $36,000. Here is a picture of the original watch that currently is in the Panerai museum. Enjoy!!

This is not as elegant as a little cube jutting out of one corner of the iPhone but it looks like the Payware Mobile phone could double as a pretty sturdy case should it drop. The backing of VeriFone means this mobile payment peripheral has some important backing and it should be able to hit the market. The VeriFone Payware Mobile iPhone is a complete solution for the iPhone. It includes PAYware Mobile app and the PAYware Mobile reader.

I think that lucky date should be January 15th of next year with free on a 2-year Payware Connect contract. Pre-orders are live on the website now for those who want to join in on the phone. Please note it that when you hand the iPhone over for someone to sign as proof of purchase then make sure you are able to outrun the chap.

Effortless Wireless

Just turn your iPhone into a secure payment device. PAYware Mobile makes it a snap. One robust app and one durable card reader is your complete payment solution.

I hope you would like to wait till January 15th, 2010.

Battalion TouchI have heard some days back that the world’s first multitouch gaming laptop is going to launch soon. So, it’s nice to see that finally iBuyPower has revealed its new Battalion Touch gaming laptop at the beginning of CES last week, but it is available to order and finally announced a price.

There is complete range of configuration options including a $150 “Flame” add-on. But if I really wanna get your hands on the first multitouch gaming laptop then I have to snag a system in $999.

Features include in Battalion Touch Notebook:

• A full multi-touch screen
• Core 2 Duo Mobile P8700 processor
• 2GB of DDR3 RAM
• A 250GB hard drive
• ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics

The Battalion Touch Notebook is the world’s first multi-touch gaming laptop computer. The rest of the spec seems fairly standard for a 15.6 inch laptop

Battalion Touch series allows me to interact with my system in new and different ways and I can take full advantage of the built-in multi-touch capabilities of Windows 7. It provides the capabilities to support the increasing number of multi-touch optimized game and software titles with the growing popularity of the multi-touch interactive platform.

So, I think I should save $999 from my this month’s salary.

MB&F HM2-SV Watch Unveiled

Posted by admin On January - 14 - 2010

HM2-SV watchRecently, the HM2-SV has introduced which is a teaser shot of the upcoming Sapphire Vision version of the MB&F HM2 watch. This unique aspect of the watch is the large 3.6mm thick sapphire crystal that serves as the front plate of the watch in lieu of metal. Its result is an ability to see the MB&F automatic movement that powers the double faced timepiece.

The right dial has jumping hours and a retrograde minute scale while the left dial of the watch displays the date and a moon phase indicator. Only 25 of this watch will be made there. Whereas this limited edition volume is not unheard of, it is relatively low given how popular MB&F watches are in high-end watch lover circles.

The problem is the sapphire crystal as there are so hard to make. During the process of making them, three out of four crystals break that takes 55 hours for the crystal alone to break. The hardest part for the screws is drilling the hopes. The back plate of the watch is in titanium while the automatic rotor is 22k gold in its iconic battle ax shape.

So, here are full images of this watch that shows the incredibly complex large sapphire crystal plate over the watch in its full glory.

So, I think this is an awesome watch from the world of high horology.

Automatic Chronograph GMT Watch announced by Davidoff

Posted by admin On January - 12 - 2010

Davidoff-automatic-chronograph-gmt-watchToday one of my friends had informed me that Davidoff launched another subtle and handsome timepiece which deserves more credit that it will get. Its oval shaped steel case is a nice aspect of the design. It is 46mm wide and water resistant to 50 meters.

In this Gent automatic chronograph GMT Watch, there is an AR coated sapphire crystal over the dial of the watch and another sapphire crystal over the movement on the rear of that shows a view to the Davidoff personalized automatic rotor.

Its style features not seemingly original are pleasant from the partially skeletonized lugs to the interesting textures and engravings on the dial and chapter ring. The design seems for me to be borrowed from one place or another but the mosaic of elements is satisfying nothing. Its brown alligator strap works well with the steel as well as gray tones of the dial and there is that almost important splash of red on the dial.

The movement is a Swiss automatic Valjoux 7750 with a Soprod 753024h module which provides the GMT complication. It is good that there is a 24 hour dial on the chapter ring. The watch is a relatively nice especially for those who are the fans of the brand.

Nokia Supreme is supremely expensive ($160k)

Posted by admin On January - 12 - 2010

Nokia SupremeNokia phones have always been my first choice. I remember when I was in college my first mobile was of Nokia and now-a-days also I am using a good featured Nokia mobile. Now, the newest Nokia phone comes from Goldstriker’s Stuart Hughes. But this latest luxurious Nokia cellphone is called Nokia Supreme (a Nokia 8800) which is nothing more than an upgraded Nokia Royal which is nothing more than a blinged out Nokia 8800 Arte.

Now, the luxury bedazzler is back with an entry-level alternative to its $3.2 million iPhone 3GS Supreme. There will be only three Nokia Supreme phones manufactured, each priced fabulously at £99,995.00, about €111,940 or $160k.

The Nokia 8800 is made out of selected materials such as platinum of 83 grams and it is encrusted with 1225 pink diamonds including a “3ct single cut flawless center diamond” and the usual granite box to store it in. This handset is also housed in a chest made from leather and granite.

I do not think there is any other Nokia phone out there to cost more. So, if you have $160k and do not know what to do with it and then you must go with a pink-diamonded slider phone, Goldstriker’s Nokia Supreme.

Cellphone use may protect brain from Alzheimer’s disease

Posted by admin On January - 11 - 2010

Alzheimer's diseaseWe always have confusion whether cellphones actually be good or bad for us. Cellphone radiation could actually be good for you and bad for you at the same time. A study in mice and U.S. researchers at the University of South Florida said on Wednesday that long-term cellphone use may help in preventing some of the brain-wasting effects of Alzheimer’s disease.

That is the exact reverse of what the researchers were expected to find and they say that if the exposure is introduced in early adulthood, exposure to electromagnetic waves from cellphones could both prevent some of the effects of Alzheimer’s, or even potentially opposite some of the impairment among those already memory-impaired.

Still, the tests are in the earliest of stages, but the researchers are planning on changing the experiment to try to speed up the results, and expand it to include tests on humans.

On mice, tests still found cellphones to be an impairement while driving.
