Jazz Honda the first Super hatchback car for India

Posted by admin On June - 19 - 2009

jazz-001

The Honda Jazz is a popular hatchback car, currently sold in Europe, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand. According to Masahiro Takadegawa, president and CEO of Honda SIEL cars, the Jazz is the most probable candidate to fill the small car space in India.

Once a small car like the Jazz enters the Indian automobile market, Honda would have a car in every category. The pricing in the Indian market would be tricky, as the Jazz has to be profitable for Honda, as well as stay reasonably below the Honda City to ensure it doesn’t cannibalise the low end Honda City cars.

Many people who have been bugged by the beauty of Honda cars and could not afford one so far due to high starting point are now rejoicing.

They said that they could not go for a premium car like Hoda City, but now with Jazz in the market they can dream of owning a Honda car.

Honda’s second generation Jazz’s has all:

  1. Appealing packaging
  2. Stylish exteriors
  3. Excellent fuel efficiency
  4. Space with good head and leg room
  5. Great performance

You may fall in love with Jazz at first sight. Get inside, it can comfortably seat five adults with their luggage. An intelligent dual and sequential ignition system (I-DSI) has been used. This puts two spark plugs in every cylinder, which betters fuel combustion and decreases emission.

It is capable of returning a fuel efficiency of 16.1 kmpl, which is confirmed from ARAI test data. The 1.2 i-VTEC engine of Jazz met the Euro IV emission norms and is E10 compatible like other Honda engines.

It shares the seats with accord and its steering wheel resembles civic. It is stylish and embellish typical Honda design – sharp lines and central bonnet ridge. Honda Jazz sharp headlamps supplements the steeply raked windscreen but the front grille resembles the CR-V. Alloy wheels and ellipsoidal glass area decorates the Jazz side.

There are just three trim levels in Jazz:  the S, SE and Sport SE. In S models, you will get power steering, electric front windows and twin airbags. Move one level up, you’ll get alloys, CD player, ABS and air-conditioning in the SE model. The top SE Sport model has nothing more than others but it offers front fog lights and subtly racier looks.

So, let see will Indian consumers do salsa after the launch of Jazz in 2009? Wait and watch!

Bajaj Pulsar 220 CC has successfully launched!! Enjoy!!

Posted by admin On June - 19 - 2009

bajaj-pulsar-200dtsi-fightermoto-black

After launching the Pulsar 200cc now Bajaj manufactures have launched Pulsar 220cc, the definitely male among the Indian bikes. The new Pulsar DTS-Fi (Digital Twin Spark-Fuel injected) is the first bike from Bajaj Auto with the powerful combination of twin spark plugs and fuel-injection technology and is an ultimate machine for the performance motorcycle enthusiast. The latest offering has set new benchmarks in technology, performance, and styling to address the needs of a growing segment of pro-bikers. The 200cc Pulsar is said to be the best looking and handling of the Pulsar Family. However, people have yet to see whether they will age as easily as its predecessors will.

Styling: On the first look of the bike, it will look like a cheetah ready to pounce on you. The head lamp is designed in such a way that it adds a life to the bike. Look at the tell tale lights, doesn’t it look like eyes? This is the second bike in India after Karizma which has isolated handle bars (like the real sports bikes). Such bikes position itself as a unique category, a higher status of machines.

Performance and Handling: The bike has great agility. It has a tendency to ‘jump off’ when you twist the throttle which gives a great adrenaline pump. If you really want to whip the engine to its limits, the Indian city roads will disappoint you.

The bike is light as a feather and seems to be ‘flying’ which is good, but does not give a safe feeling. The maximum power is 3 PS more than Karizma, but the top speed is nearly the same – 126 kmph.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 Specifications:
Engine: 220 cc single, 2 valve, 4 Stroke, EFI, air cooled with oil cooler
Compression ratio: 12.8:1
Top speed: 135 km/h (84 mph) (estimated)
Power: 20 PS (20 hp/15 kW)
Torque: 19.13 N•m (14 ft•lbf)
Transmission: 5 speed manual sequential
Suspension: Front: 37 mm telescopic hydraulic type 130 mm (5.1 in) travel
Rear: Ellipitical section swingarm with twin hydraulic gas-charged shock absorbers; 101 mm (4 in) travel
Brakes: Front: 260mm disc
Rear: 230 mm disc
Tires: Front: 90/90-17 tubeless
Rear: 120/80-17 tubeless
Dimension: L 2,035 millimetres (80.1 in) W 750 millimetres (30 in) H 1,140 millimetres (45 in)
Weight: Approx. 150 kilograms (330 lb)

So, we predict that Bajaj Pulsar 220 is a great bike in India, but taking into account the international bikes, its stands no chance against them.

Delhi Metro The Boon For Delhities

Posted by admin On June - 19 - 2009

Metro

The Delhi Metro, is a rapid transit system in the Indian city of Delhi that was built and is operated by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC).

For many years, India lagged behind the rest of the world in the field of urban public transport. This changed with the formation of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC) in 1995, with the mandate to build a Metro system in the Indian capital New Delhi Construction began on 1 October 1998 and today the Metro system spreads across 65.1 km. The project has provided significant environmental and social benefits to the city. At present, Phase II of the project is being constructed. It is very ambitious because about 125 km have to be completed before the Commonwealth Games in October 2010.

Environmental and Social Benefits

Delhi Metro has provided significant environmental and social benefits to the city.

  • Passenger time saved
  • Fuel costs saved
  • Reduction in capital and operating costs of vehicles
  • Reduction in environmental damage
  • Time savings
  • Lower maintenance costs for infrastructure
  • Reduction in road accidents
  • Improvement in road traffic conditions
  • Help to reduce the global warming by saving the fuels

Spread of Metro Culture to other Indian Cities

The success of the Delhi Metro has encouraged other Indian cities to seriously attempt to introduce Metro systems. DMRC has also submitted Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for Metro systems in Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chennai. DPRs are being prepared for Pune and Ludhiana. In fact, work has already begun on the Bangalore and Hyderabad Metros.

Operational Profits from Day One

DMRC is carrying out property development activities to keep fares at a minimum. It has developed Delhi’s largest IT park, while shopping centres and kiosks are present at almost all Metro stations.

Latest Technology Used

It has also used the latest technology in the fields in the fields of signaling, telecommunications, rolling stock manufacturing, automatic fare collection system and traction and track technology.

There are plans to make the Delhi Metro Rail system more accessible to people by providing feeder buses to the stations. Also it has been planned that by 2010, when the Commonwealth Games come to India, the New Delhi Metro Rail system will not only cover most parts of Delhi but also cross the borders of Delhi joining NOIDA, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon.

So we believe that the greatest achievement of Delhi Metro is that it has given Indians the confidence to believe in themselves and trust that they can efficiently build the most challenging and technically complex projects. Really it’s a god gift to the people of Delhi.
