
Company CEO, Alan Mulally has made a major announcement in the world about its new small car called the Ford Figo that will be manufactured at Ford’s plant in Chennai, India. After undergoing a US$500 million transformation, India is set to become a major regional small-car hub for the blue oval and increasing its annual capacity to 200,000 units.
This plant will be petrol produce both petrol and diesel for the domestic vehicle market and for export within Ford’s Africa region and Asia Pacific. Alan Mulally had given the statement that their new Ford Figo will show how serious they are about India, it will give tough competition to this automobile market in all segments. They believe that the 2010 Ford Figo is a product that Indian consumers will really value.
The 2010 Ford Figo is designed with features a contemporary, fresh shape. Its design conveys a dynamic spirit of energy in motion as it was designed with all new body features such as sporty alloy wheels pushed to car’s four corners, a large mouth front bumper, subtle rear spoiler and squared off rear end.
In the design of the new Ford Figo, quality substances are clearly evident that features a large interior and a vibrant, youthful character. It also includes grille shapes and sculpted bonnet to the subtle spoiler from its modern headlamps and chamfered window shape at the rear.
The new Ford Figo is targeted to the small car B-segment in India where it accounts for 75 percent of the new vehicle market. Its design philosophy is filled with kinetic language. From the front grille to the sculptured lines the styling is modern and reflective of current models such as the Fiesta and the Mondeo. The latter also shares some of the technologies with the Figo.
