Posted by Indrani Ghose On September - 8 - 2010

Has it ever happened that you were talking on your mobile phone and in the middle of the sentence, the phone’s battery ran out? Well, this is a problem faced by many of us, and to address it, Nokia has launched a portable battery, which can charge two Nokia handsets at a time. The Nokia Extra Power DC – 11 can provide full power to one phone at a time, and can be charged with the standard Nokia adapter. It is compact & stylish, and equipped with charging points in form of the standard 2mm Nokia charging pin as well as micro USB.

This portable charger is fitted with a 1500mAh battery, which can completely charge a phone using the 2mm charger. It can be also be used to charge phones manufactured by other companies through the micro USB, but can be charged using the 2mm charger only, which is probably its only limitation. The design of Nokia Extra Power DC – 11 is sleek to say the least; it comes with a silver aluminum body, and fits in the pocket with utmost ease. It weighs 94gms, and has dimensions 113×56×11 mm, which give it the size of a regular phone, albeit a thin one.

On its body, only one button can be found, which is used to turn it on. A light is placed on the body to indicate whether the Nokia Extra Power DC – 11 is charging, idle or being charged. The charging cables snuggle up conveniently on the sides, which adds to the appeal of this portable charger. The only downside is for the non-Nokia users, since the charger for this device comes free with a Nokia handset, and they have to shell out a few extra bucks to buy one for themselves. Otherwise, in all entireties, the Nokia Extra Power DC – 11 is a godsend, so go buy one!
