Dreaming of a luxurious car? keys to luxury cars are on SALE

Posted by Yogesh Kumar On August - 22 - 2009

I could not stop the financial crisis when the markets collapsed badly in all over the world but I have full sympathies with those people who lost their homes, jobs, got laid off and faced the worse effects of the crisis. Whole market got down but luxury showed remarkable resilience and is the only boom in the entire bust.

Yes! An Australian car club has found a way to sell the luxurious product and enable you to enjoy with luxurious cars at reasonable price. Australia’s Supercar Club makes luxury cars on sale to its members and giving car enthusiasts easy access to the keys of dozens of luxurious cars without the expenditure.

The keys to Luxury

In 2006, Australia’s Supercar Club started, operating from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Now it has total 150 members, including two women and around five new members joining each month at present.

Members have to pay a one-off joining fee of A$4,500 and then annual rates ranging from A$19,000 to A$42,500 which pays for between 15 and 80 driving days a year depends on the car and the day of the week because weekends are more costly.

The club has a fleet of 36 cars and for every new five members, adds a new car, but is expected to close its books when membership reaches 250.

Executive director at Supercar Club, Peter Dempsey believe that the combination of the global financial crisis and a pricey Australian tax on luxury cars had driven membership numbers up and expected one out of 5 to buy a membership, but currently it’s two out of 5. Since the financial crisis, he noticed demographic changes in people joining the club that started by attracting financiers and bankers but is now drawing small business entrepreneurs and owners.

This car clubs have become famous alternative to the costly hobby of owning, insuring as well as maintaining high-priced hot wheels. So, if you are dreaming of Ferrari then go ahead!! It’s a nice time and nice chance.

Entelligence – Six is too much

Posted by Kamleshwar Bhatt On August - 17 - 2009

A column by technology strategist is called as an Entelligence. In this article I will talk about the state of mobile platforms. I always try to take distinct view of the mobile market. Six major platforms are vying recently for minds and hearts of users and applications developers called as third party developers  like Microsoft’s Windows Mobile, Nokia’s s60, RIM’s Blackberry, Apple’s iPhone, Google’s Android and Palm’s WebOS. There is very rare chance for many devices to get the support from market. But still there may be good opportunity for other devices or players to enter this competitive market.

There were a multitude of personal computing platforms in the early 80s. Before IBM entered the game, Commodore, Atari, Radio Shack, Apple and Texas Instruments and Timex all were in the personal computing business. The failure or success of every PC platform was decided in no small part by the availability of third party software. Best of breed titles, Exclusive titles and titles appeared on a given platform first determined losers and winners. Today! similar thing is happening in the mobile platforms.

First wireless email devices were the ancestors of today’s mobile devices, emphasis only on the core feature of email and the out-of-box experience they provided. All platforms had some degree of third party (mainly Palm and Microsoft) support most non-enthusiast users did not worry with those apps. Yes! Apple’s App Store and the iPhone have changed everything. Apple had marketed the iPhone to the mass market as well as to the enthusiast and to the business professional. By doing so, they positioned core device features in the smartphone market such as web browsing, email and voice as table stakes.

The new differentiator is not the device itself but the added features are provided by third parties. If we talk about the personal computer, it is only the third party developers that define which mobile platform wins and which mobile platform loses.

Like the personal computer space, I think six competing platforms can’t gain sufficient traction to survive over the next three years. Today’s mobile platforms have dramatically upped the degree of capability and functionality. But none of them are perfect.

Samsung’s portable media player YP-R1 hits the FCC

Posted by Isha Farhad On August - 14 - 2009

I remember that I had heard the story and one month later I heard that Samsung has debuted Tegra-based YP-M1 in South Korea. The 16GB version of this new Samsung YP-R1 PMP will be available in the UK. But today, I am happy as I just found that its session at this moment finally popped up at the FCC and I will soon see if it meets the criteria to be sold in the market.

While not withstanding from a guaranty, that would seem to signal that US release could be coming sooner rather than later and hopefully way that it is sitting bigger brother, the M1, will also be following suit. If you missed it, the YP-R1 is a touchscreen-based player with a 2.7-inch display (400 x 240 pixels), and has 8GB to 32GB of flash storage, TV-out, touts built-in Bluetooth connectivity, supports the major audio and video file as well as a few games for nice measure if you are out with nothing else to do.

It is a good thing that if I pay some 110 GBP for in the UK (at today’s rate, it is some $180) and if it clears the FCC, then the price of this new Samsung YP-R1 should be close to that amount and it should debut just before the end of the year.

Are you still curious to know more about Samsung YP-R1? Hmm..me also.

Samsung ST550 and ST500 cameras with Dual LCD (Front and Rear)

Posted by Abhyudaya Tripathi On August - 14 - 2009

st550

Great! Now I can enjoy my Camera with LCD and this is because of Samsung’s great job. Samsung is at the top in the world of digital cameras because of their crazy technologies now offering a unique way to shoot and improve your self-portrait photo by official announcing two new models, Samsung ST500 (Rear 3” Touchscreen) and ST550 (Rear 3.5” Touchscreen). On Thursday morning in the US, CNET Asia is reporting that these new models will feature an LCD on the front for self-portrait shooting and displaying exposure information.

A 1.5-inch LCD in the front, right next to the lens and one in the back like usual. With 1.5-inch LCD, I am now capable to place myself exactly in front of the camera to shoot my family, friends and myself. I think it will be more useful for capturing the exact moment of horror from a coulrophobist.

Beside the difference in the Rear touchscreen size, both the ST500 and ST550 are similar, like they both have the same design, both are 12.2 megapixel cameras, a 4.6x optical zoom, 720p video recording capability capabilities, image stabilization and a touchscreen rear LCD with haptic feedback. The ST550 features a 3.5-inch display while the ST500 has a 3-inch display in the back.

Price rate for both has not been released, but it is expected that the ST550 and ST500 will be available in Singapore later this month.

I will definitely share more details and photos with you when I will get.
