4GB Steampunk Flash Drive Is Available & Is Way Overrated

Posted by Yogesh Kumar On August - 27 - 2009

A 4GB Steampunk USB flash drive is available and will not go anywhere whether you like or not. Its price would make you think of all sorts of exclusiveness, lavishness as well as luxury treatment that might be given to it.

DriveI love flash drives as much as the next person and Steampunk is a well design aesthetic, but not everyone got that memo. Pricey Steampunk flash drive is exclusively for art lovers. This state of the art flash drive is made from copper and brass and therefore, it is waiting for some art lover to consider it a bargain.

Will Rockwell is the designer and he has got a plethora of other Steampunk stuff which is in the market for your purchasing pleasure and they are a lot cheaper than this flash drive. It will cost you $3,000.00, no no don’t panic.

Apparently, the device itself was featured on Geeky-Gadgets.com, and was noted on that site that no one knew why this Steampunk’s device was so expensive, unless it was a typo. Will Rockwell said about the remark on his site that it is not a typo. $3,000.00 is just what it would take to pry the drive out of his hands and take it from his world into your world.

Will Rockwell loves as well as respects the art of Steampunk very much to undervalue his work; therefore the price tag is set in stone. He also said that many prices for his other items are going up. So, the tag attached to this flash drive might actually be a bargain at some situation in the future.

I think it is well to buy in future. Am I right?

Bajaj XCD 135 DTS-Si Bike: Running successfully in India

Posted by Abhyudaya Tripathi On August - 27 - 2009

I am very fond of bikes. Whenever I get time from my busy schedule I spend my spare time by going on long drive with my girl friend. Now, one more reason has come to go on long drive with my girl friend Bajaj XCD 135 DTS-Si bike as I treat my bike as my girl friend.

BajajBajaj Auto Ltd., the second largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India has launched its first products of 2009, XCD 135 DTS-Si bike in January and you believe me it has sold more than 10,000 units in the first fifteen days after its delivering in February 2009 and fulfilling the increasing demands of people successfully. According to a source, the Bajaj XCD 135, bridges the gap between the popular Honda’s Stunner in the 125cc segment and Yamaha’s FZ16 in the 150cc segment and providing buyers best of both the worlds.

I think this XCD 135 DTS-Si bike can put Bajaj Auto Ltd. in the first position in the two wheeler section and can beat its rival Hero Honda.

This XCD 135 plays the value for money to buyers have a tight budget and yet want a stylish, fuel efficient bike and reasonably powerful.

Many first-in-class features of XCD 135 DTS-Si include:

•    A 135cc DTS-Si engine
•    Auto choke
•    A 5 speed gear box
•    Gas filled Nitrox absorbers
•    Digital speedometer
•    LED tail lamps

Other important features include:

•    Electric-start
•    Front disc-brake.

The Bajaj XCD 135 DTS-Si will be manufactured in Waluj. There are 5 colors and decal option available so that the consumer can easily choose from. So, I want to ride the wave of freshness. Do you want?

I am willing to see what’s new in Wacom’s new DJ device which is most probably going to launch on September 18th in Japan for 169,800 ($1,796) and September 25th in Europe. Wacom is known for its graphic tablet and now launching a new nexbeat NXT-1000 stand-alone DJ device that would feel right at home in a mockup spacecraft console (think Starfleet, not NASA). Wacom took its first step onto a new branch with the NXT-1000, an all-in-one DJ device. This nextbeat is coming with two digital player, an effector and a mixer. It also has a sampler in the wireless portable control unit. It supports MP3, AIFF, WAV and AAC-LC digital formats.

Wacom NXT-1000NXT-1000 product is designed mainly for professional DJs. We have plenty of these in this world but I found a difference by one of its unique feature i.e it has a touch-sensitive controller (for jogging, pitching and playing samples), buttons and scratchpad that I can detach from the main unit and carry with myself around the club, showing off my beat smithing skills away from the booth and I can assume that I have wireless headphones, also. This nextbeat is a fully integrated DJ system with live performance functions and touch sensor controls. The wireless compact unit can move free from the main device for “more dynamic as well as energetic live performances”.

The Wacom’s NXT-1000 looks like a wonderful controller for budding beat matchers. And also a whole host of twiddly buttons to tweak sounds, also includes a mixer with a sampler, 3-band EQ and an LCD panel to queue up effects.

The Wacom’s nextbeat NXT-1000 will be available in end of Summer 2009 and will be available in Europe and Japan with more expected details later this month so you just stay tuned.

Creative brings Android-powered Zii EGG for OEMs and Developers

Posted by Yogesh Kumar On August - 27 - 2009

Finally, Creative has confirmed that Zii EGG will ship by the end of this month. The Zii EGG runs “Plazma” platform which is the new and has something to do with “StemCell Computing” and enables developers to develop for both Android and Plazma simultaneously.

creative zii eggThe Zii EGG is aimed at OEMs and developers; on top of Creative’s ZMS-05 chip, it runs good vanilla Android. In this, the hardware is very impressive, with rear and front facing cameras, 1080p video output, HD playback, OpenGL ES support, 32GB of built-in memory, X-Fi audio processing and a full SD slot. And much more “run of the mill” features are GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and a 3-axis accelerometer. The 320 x 480 screen sounds ordinary, but is some 10-point multi touch capacitive input on top.

Here, the main drawback is the lack of cellular data but I hope somebody will solve this problem. The Zii EGG is no doubt a developer platform but Creative said that this platform is “market-ready” for picking up for production by OEMs. I think they are not far removed from shoehorning a 3G chipset in there somewhere also. The Zii Plazma Starter Kit has the Zii EGG that can be had for $400.

Although the Zii EGG is a finished product but still it is not quite ready for the consumer market but expected to ship by the end of this month. Creative is banking on developers to build the applications and full user experiences out of the Zii EGG hardware though Android and their own Linux based OS dubbed Plazma. The big difference is that the Plazma OS takes advantage of the Zii chips cell architecture.

The Zii Egg that runs Google’s Android operating system is a multi touch iPod touch-like device. Though, the device bears a strong resemblance to the leaked bezel images and suggesting that it had simply been mislabeled all along.

So, you just wait till the end of this month and see the result.

Is Still PS3 Slim hardware losing money?

Posted by Abhyudaya Tripathi On August - 27 - 2009

Last week in Cologne, after the big Gamescom show the Times Online had a sit-down with Kaz Hirai, the Sony Computer Entertainment boss. One of my friends George was present there to attend that big event and saw the official launch of the new Playstation 3 (PS3) Slim. He questioned there that whether the lower-priced $299 PS3 Slim will be sold at a loss relative to its cost to manufacture. Kaz Hirai quick replied him “YES”.

playstation 3 slimThat was a shocking reply for me because of two reasons. First reason, the PS3 Slim has advantages from efficient 45-nm manufacturing processes that has used on its less power-hungry and smaller Cell processor. Second reason, Sony’s CFO told investors just last month that manufacturing costs of the PS3 had dropped by about 70% which has come to about $240 based on original manufacturing estimates of $800 when the PS3 launched back in 2006. A console being sold as a loss-leader is nothing latest in this industry world. The PS3 is a platform that includes the software, hardware, peripherals and services.

The PS3 Slim is two-thirds the weight and thickness of the current PS3 model. And also, to help to reduce fan noise, power-consumption has been cut to two-thirds.
The hardware features involves a textured surface finish that is unlike the current glossy model. The hardware also includes a 120GB hard drive, an increase from the entry-level 80GB model. The PS3 Slim includes system software 3.0 which includes a ‘What’s New’ screen and improved user operability.

When the console is plugged in with an HDMI cable, the PS3 Slim with a Bravia Sync feature will allow owners to operate the XMB on the PS3 via TV remote. When the Bravia TV is turned off, the hardware will also move to Standby mode

Good news for you is that the new $299 Playstation 3 Slim hardware will be available on Sept. 1 in the U.S. So, what’s the program?

MSI X-Slim X600 Laptop makes you more Professional

Posted by Isha Farhad On August - 27 - 2009

I can not ignore X-Slim X600’s dimensions, its slim and light body which makes me a complete professional person. It is easy to carry and much more portable and that’s why I can bring and use it anywhere easily. I am thankful to MSI who has just now officially launched its X-Slim X600 laptop in the US, and made it available at a number of online retailers including Amazon and Newegg.

msi-x-slim-x600MSI’s X-Slim X600 laptop includes:

The combination of an Intel Ultra-Low Voltage processor and a discrete ATI GPU give the X600 both strong battery life and good graphics performance. The X600 is made out of lightweight glossy plastic and includes some pretty specs for that price (and its size), including your choice of black or silver color options.

Ports

MSI managed to include number of ports into the X600 laptop like the standard audio jacks, VGA, Ethernet, and 2 USB ports, 2-in-1 memory card reader, the X600 has an USB/ eSATA port for connecting to high-speed backup devices and an HDMI-out jack for outputting high definition video to a HDMI-compatible monitor or television.

Google Doodle? What is this??

Posted by Kamleshwar Bhatt On August - 27 - 2009

I am a big fan of  Google because whenever I use Google to search anything, to confirm anything, to know about something, it helps me a lot. Google guides me in an easy way and therefore I don’t need any tutor or teacher or to take help from other in free of cost. Infact I teach people after studying from Google.
google-doodler
Google has had many logos but the current official Google logo is a word mark based on the Catull typeface and was designed by Ruth Kedar. This company has many modifications and/or humorous features like cartoon modifications of their logo for use on birthdays of famous people, holidays and big events. Some of these special logos are designed by Dennis Hwang and now known as Google Doodles.

To the Burning Man Festival of 1998, the first Google Doodle was a reference and was designed by Sergey Brin and Larry Page, to notify users of their absence in case the servers crashed. After Larry and Sergey, Dennis Hwang (an outside contractor) was asked to design a logo for Bastille Day in 2000, although he had not been hired to do anything remotely related to logo design. But, Hwang has been designing the Google Doodles ever since.

Google doodles have been produced for many famous artist’s and scientist’s birthdays. They are also used to depict major events at Google. On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2007, the Google doodle had featured a chocolate-dipped strawberry that combined the second “g” and the “l” as its green stem.  This design gave the appearance that the “l” was missing, thereby displaying “Googe”.

What doodles will be doing next? Well, I have no idea. One thing I like most about Google is that this is the kind of company that, when a user writes in to suggest that they honor the once in every122-years Transit of Venus on their home page, they actually do it. Wow!!
